Shri Maharaj Ji gave a divinely meaningful name to Valentine's day. He gave it the name Gopi Prem Divas. In this world all forms of so-called-love are based on selfish motive therefore, love waxes and wanes depending on whether one's selfish motive is satisfied or not. But true love flourishes, regardless whether there is a reason for it to wane or not. This kind of love is possible only in the divine world in the hearts of Divine Rasik Saints.
So in the season of love we will talk about a few Rasik Saints of Vrindaban and their mode of worship. Here are some examples of Rasik Saints, and a glimpse of their love for Yugal Sarkar, Shri Radha and Shri Krishna.

Shri Hit Harivansh
The crest moon of rasiks of Braj is Shri Hit Harivansh He was the incarnation of Murali (Flute of Shri Krishna). He experienced Shri Radha as the unfathomable ocean of causeless mercy and was exclusive in His devotion to Her lotus feet. At the same time, he loved Shri Krishna equally as His beloved. The mode of his love towards Yugal Sarkar was known as Sahchari Bhav.
In his most esteemed scripture Radha Sudha Nidhi he has given a glimpse of his love for Shri Radha: राधाकरावचितपल्लववल्लरीके, राधापदाङ्कविलसन्। मधुरस्थलीके ।
राधा यशोमुखरमत्तखगावलीके, राधाविहारविपिने रमतां मनो मे ॥१३॥ Rādhākarāvacitapallavavallarīkē, Rādhāpadāñkavisanmadhursthalīkē | Rādhāyaśōmukharamattakhagāvalīkē, Rādhāvihārvipinē Ramatāń Manō Mē ||13|| Radha Sudha Nidhi
“May my mind dwell in the holy place where creepers are blessed by the holy touch of the hands of Sri Radha and the earth which has the imprints of Her holy feet. The holy place is crowded with love-infatuated birds singing Her glory !”

rasanā kaṭau jo ana raṭau, nirakhi ana phuṭau naina" -
śrī hita harivaṃśa mahāprabhu, sphuṭa vāṇī (24)
"Let my tongue be cut off if I chant anything other than the name of Shri Radha. Let my eyes lose sight if I see anything other than the form of Shri Radharani. Let my eardrums burst if I hear any other sound except the glories of Shri Radha.”
Saint HaridasSanit Haridas (संत हरिदास) was a Rasik saint-poet and philosopher, widely acclaimed as the incarnation of Lalita Sakhi one of the Asht Maha Sakhi. He was also the distinguished Guru of great musicians like Baiju Bawra and Tansen. His mode of love for the divine couple was Sakhi Bhav.
Haridas's theology embraces not merely the Love of Shri Radha and Shri Krishna, but also experiencing of that Love, a state of mind called Rasa (रस). In an ecstatic condition of trance, he used to sing about the pastimes of Shri Krishna in the bowers of Vrindavan. Shri Radha was the central personality of all his poems; even more than Shri Krishna. |
Saint VyasSaint Vyas (संत व्यास) was also an illustrious rasik saint and an incarnation of Vishakha Sakhi, one of the Asht Maha Sakhi. He worshiped Shri Radha in the Sakhi Bhav. He loved the intimate Divine leelas performed by The Divine couple in the dense groves of Vrindavan - Nikunj Vihar in the presence of the most intimate gopis.
He has described these in his three primary compositions namely Vyas Vani, Ragamala, Navratna. Likewise, numerous rasik saints have descended on this Earth from time immemorial. Some recent examples of great rasik saints who descended 500 years ago include Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Roop Goswami, Jeev Goswami etc. Jagadguruttam Shri Kripalu Mahaprabhu |
Jagadguruttam Shri Kripalu Mahaprabhu (जगद्गुरु श्री कृपालु महाप्रभु) is a modern day rasik saint. He is called Rasik Shiromani or the crest jewel of rasik saints as He adored The Divine Couple with Gopi Bhav. His literature is the amalgamation of Sakhi Bhav and Gopi Bhav. Yet Gopi Bhav takes a center stage in His teachings. Have a glimpse of His love-sentiments towards Yugal Sarkar -
hamāre māī! gaura śyāma doū ām̐khī ।
gaura teja tila śyāma palaka puni, rasa vilāsa hita rākhī । māyā-palaka-vilāsa hota hama, talaphati dṛga jala sākhī । binu viyoga saṃyoga sukhada kama, rasika janana yaha bhākhī । soī rasa prema viṣāmṛta jānata, lo bāreka yaha cākhī । cākhe puni "kṛpālu" nita nava rasa, raha cākhana abhilāṣī ॥ |
“O Sakhi ! Shri Radha and Madhav are my eyes. Fair complexioned Shri Radha is the white lustrum and beloved Shyam Sundar is the black pupils. I use my eyelids to hide Their intimate pastimes from the world. But when the veil of Maya sometimes covers Their pastimes from my sight, I become extremely agitated and the witnesses to my agony are the tears that flow from my eyes. Rasik saints assert that the bliss experienced in the separation from the Divine Couple is much superior than the bliss of constant union with them. Only those who have enjoyed the unique cocktail of this poison and nectar, can comprehend the sweetness of the ecstasy. Shri Kripalu Ji Mahaprabhu says, “The one who has savored this, becomes addicted and seeks to taste new flavors of divine love for the rest of eternity”.
The true essence of these words (भावार्थ) can only be understood by a saint of the same caliber. The august assembly of Sanskrit scholars (Kashi Vidvat Parishad), who had spent their whole lives in researching these scriptures, recognized Shri Maharaj Ji’s divine attributes and sang his praises in each verse of Padyaprasoonopahaar.
As the followers of Shri Maharaj Ji, we must consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have attained a Guru of the highest class without expending any efforts in the present life. We ought to continue to ponder over this thought and grow this feeling of love and gratitude. It appears as if God has bestowed His choicest grace upon us; as a fruit of some auspicious deeds we might have performed in our past lives.
Anyone, who accepted Shri Maharaj Ji as their master, would positively attain divine grace. After God realization the devotees attain a seat just below the Spiritual Master. So if we wish to attain the bliss of Gopi bhav, we must follow His philosophy wholeheartedly to attain His grace and eventually that unparalleled bliss that is unachievable even by the great Brahma, Shankar and Maha Lakshmi.
